About Chelsea Denney, MD

Chelsea Denny (she/her) was born in Goldendale, Washington, a small community on the Oregon/Washington border just ten minutes from the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. She attended the University of Washington where she completed a BA in Psychology and was particularly interested in the science behind substance use disorders (SUDs). Following this she moved back to the eastern side of the state, completing a postbaccalaureate (postbac) degree in General Science at Washington State University with the goal of applying to medical school.

She attended the University of Washington School of Medicine where she was accepted into the TRUST program, a longitudinal curriculum geared toward creating rural physicians. It was through this program that her love for family medicine grew, learning alongside physicians in rural eastern Washington who treat patients of every age, in hospital and clinic settings. She particularly enjoyed the prenatal care of patients experiencing substance use disorders. She found joy in activism, serving as the medical student delegate for the Washington State Medical Association presenting resolutions to improve rural access to obstetrical care.

When she isn’t thinking about medicine she loves reading, knitting, getting outside, listening to NPR podcasts, attempting to cook, watching Seattle sports and spending time with her dog Maverick. She is beyond excited to be a part of this residency community and serve the community of Port Angeles.
