15 Aug Overdose Awareness Day Event on August 31
Clallam County will join communities around the world on Saturday, August 31, 2024, for International Overdose Awareness Day. Observed every year on August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day was established to remember without stigma those who have died from overdose, acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind, and support those in recovery.
Join North Olympic Healthcare Network, Peninsula Behavioral Health, Clallam County Health and Human Services, Klallam Counseling Services, Reflections Counseling Services Group, The American Indian Health Commission, and Jamestown Healing Clinic at Port Angeles City Pier beginning at 11:00 a.m. for a day of activities, food, presentations, personal stories, and a remembrance wall.

The event is free and open to the public. Community members connected to overdose risk (treatment providers, individuals, and families) are strongly encouraged to attend. Purple shirts are appreciated, but not required. Purple is the official color of the International Overdose Awareness Day campaign.
