Susan C. Johnson, LICSW
Susan was born in Kentucky, and raised in Texas and Arkansas. Years later she moved back to Texas and made her way to Alabama, then Kentucky, and recently to Washington where she resides with her husband and their two Manchester Terriers.
Susan received her Bachelor of Science with honors at the University of Texas at El Paso, then received her MSSW at the University of Texas at Austin. She achieved her LCSW while living in Texas after years of supervised advanced clinical studies.
Susan has been licensed as LCSW in the states of Texas, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, and has recently been granted her LICSW in Washington.
She is recognized as ACHP-SW (Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker) through NASW and also as a Board-Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work through ABSWE.
Susan’s 25 years of experience as a clinical social worker includes community corrections, hospice, adoptions, therapeutic foster care, mental health therapy, trauma recovery, crisis response, medical social work both in home health and hospital settings, and licensure supervision.
Susan utilizes a client-centered, eclectic approach to counseling that includes use of CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness skills, and grief counseling with a focus on the “whole person”.
