Dr. Summer Scavone
Summer hails from San Antonio, Texas where the sun is constant and unrelenting. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at University of Texas in Austin, where she also enjoyed fine food, music, and the hill country. She moved back to San Antonio to complete a dual MD/MPH degree at UT Health Science Center School of Medicine where she nurtured a growing interest in caring for vulnerable populations.
She completed training in Seattle at Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency with an emphasis on social justice, patient-centered care, and full-spectrum family medicine.
Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, the Olympic Peninsula has been one of her favorite places to visit; she is thrilled to join NOHN and find her place in the Port Angeles community.
Her clinical interests include: obstetrics, procedures, integrative medicine, LGBTQ care, addiction medicine and seeing patients in all domains (in the hospital, in the clinic, and even at home sometimes). She is also very excited to start working with and teaching the new Rural Training Track residents in 2018.
Dr. Scavone believes that health is a pillar of a happy life and she hopes to improve her patients’ lives through improved wellness, with their help, of course! Outside the clinic, Summer enjoys making new friends, hiking, camping, dogs, cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with her nieces. She’s hoping to learn more about gardening, music, local flora/fauna, homesteading, and maybe contra dancing.
